Since we started this journey, I have seen changes in the way we do things around the house. We have become more aware of what we eat and what we need to stop doing. Personally, I realize that although it is convenient, I no longer want to buy or order food. And leave it as a once in a while kind of thing.
Listen, I can’t lie. I much rather do my thing and relax than cook every day. I enjoy cooking, but there are times I am so exhausted that the thought of “it would be nice if someone else does it” comes to mind. We don’t do it everyday, but we do it every week and it is not something I am proud of saying. Anyway, back on to the journey…
We went grocery shopping today and aside from maybe 2-3 things. Everything was fresh fruits, veggies and meats. It does take planning and budgetting. I honestly cannot begin to tell you how stressful it can be to plan a whole week’s worth of food for a family of 4, but it will save you headaches and time in the long run. And honestly, it is nice for the pocket too. Making myself plan foods, even simple foods, can save me the hassle to order or pick up food. At least I know what’s in it.
In the fitness side of things, we have made some adjustments too. Changing it up from Beachbody programs to our own routine. I am not a certified trainer, but I do research enough to figure out what works best for us. I, sadly, see lots of burpees, lunges and squards in my future. But I cannot wait to see the results of it too.
I am exciting to see what’s next. The couple’s fitness routine has been working and I am loving finding pinterest recipes to make. I am re-building my boards again, you can check the out here.
Self care is a lot more than people realize. It is a lot more than I realized and I am happy I’m starting to see the full scope. Mind, body and soul are truly the best way of self care. It is a tough journey, but one that has a smooth road once you go over the hump.
Until Next time…
